Taking Care of Business

Campus finally reopened on Tuesday and I got the chance to go to the editing lab. All of our Asheville stuff looks epic and our Lady Passion interview is coming along quite well. Unfortunately due to statewide flooding, we had to cancel our Tony Brown interview. It didn’t seem justifiable driving five hours there and five hours back for only an hour interview. Lights would have had to be set up taking even more time, and the trip would have been miserable in all honesty. In light (pun intended) of this though we have rescheduled Alysha’s interview for this upcoming Monday at 7 and also have a local Wilmington Wiccan, Danny, scheduled and confirmed for our third interview. It has been rather insane for our schedule this week, but I am looking forward to both of their interviews. Alysha is a devout Christian who studies Wicca and Danny used to be a Christian who decided to convert to Wicca. These two interviews should complement one another alongside Lady Passion’s words. This past week we also unveiled (also another pun intended) our official movie poster which is awesome! We thought about how this poster would look in programs and on film festival websites, and it’s going to look great! In terms of what I worked on while in the lab this past week, I created our opening with the main title. It probably isn’t set in stone, but what I’ve got on the timeline thus is better than nothing. Another thing I put together is our Hollywood exploitation piece. Lady Passion said this awesome statement about Hollywood putting images into people’s heads about what witches are, and one of our composers Dane had the perfect music to go along with it. I’m relieved editing has begun because now that I’ve seen the footage in Premiere Pro I know what I’ve got to work with and I can finally see some direction. Once we have Alysha and Danny’s interviews, I’m going to spend several hours in the lab putting this documentary together. The final film will show all of our effort and time put into it.
