Rock You Like a Hurricane...Your Schedule That Is

So we survived Asheville. We ended up going back downtown on Sunday and getting the footage we couldn’t get on Saturday, so luckily everything worked out. The trip was quite tiring and this week has been hard. I got all of the footage from our cameras and all of the sound files from the H6 onto my laptop and hard drive. While I have scrubbed through it and have noticed for the most part how awesome our footage looks, I have unfortunately not been able to edit it yet. On Monday night I had to prepare a presentation for Tuesday, Tuesday night I had to prepare a different presentation for Wednesday, and we also held our fundraiser at Fuzzy Peach on Tuesday night. The fundraiser went well and we should be getting the check sometime this week. This will definitely help with our Asheville expenses since we went through a lot of gas with all of that equipment in our cars and driving those steep hills up to our lodge. On Wednesday night we were scheduled to film one of our interviews in my apartment, but when the campus required a mandatory evacuation by noon on Thursday our subject had to cancel before we got the chance to film. I was super bummed by this since it is going to be incredibly hard to reschedule. I’m hoping we can work something out in November but at this point there is no guarantee since now I am also behind in editing. Originally I was going to stay on campus for fall break and go to the editing lab to start getting some footage on the timeline, but because of this freaking hurricane I obviously could not do that. Luckily Jordan has Premiere Pro on her computer and is going to start working on Lady Passion’s interview by cutting it down to the parts that will be most beneficial to our film. Devon also found another fantastic subject for our film to make up for us losing this past week’s interview subject. He is a local Wiccan and is allowing us to film him while he is out getting supplies for a Halloween ritual he will complete on the beach. This is going to be great and I absolutely cannot wait to show a true Wiccan in their environment. This guy also used to be Christian and is going to have the perspective we need to show and tell Christians that are close-minded that Wicca is nothing to be condemned, it is a mere religious choice that is not harmful to anyone and should be respected. Once this hurricane passes I am hoping to get back on track, get back in the lab, and get this documentary started on the timeline. For now I am monitoring the weather and keeping up with other assignments to allow myself to work on this film throughout the week.
