Wake me up...wait when did September end?

I remember the beginning of this month. The Modern Craft crew was working hard on pre-production ahead of schedule and excited to get started. Now we are knee deep in production and still trying to stay one step ahead of everything. Our Indiegogo has been doing incredibly well and we are so thankful for everyone’s contributions. Sunday night we were contacted by an artist who wanted to compose songs for the film and sent us some music. These songs definitely fit the mood we want and I think we’re going to incorporate at least one into the film. We also met on Sunday night as a crew and created an itinerary for our Asheville trip so that we know where we’re going and where we’re shooting. Our vox pop questions and talent releases were prepared and ready to hit the streets in downtown. On Monday we showed our b-roll to the class and had generally good feedback. We definitely need to make sure in the final cut that our shots do not look overly ominous though since this is not the direction we want to go in. Some contrast will do well but the music will have heavy influence on the overall mood, so once we get that squared away the shots should no longer seem so daunting. This past Tuesday we also confirmed a fundraiser with the Fuzzy Peach Frozen Yogurt Bar on Racine. All of the donations will go towards our travel costs of course but also towards festival submission fees. This weekend we have been in Asheville filming b-roll and our interview with Lady Passion. We got here late Friday and spent all day yesterday getting shots. Yesterday we also got lucky at one of the local stores where the Village witch was in for the day. We spoke with her about some things and she even volunteered to sit down and do a quick interview with us. Once we left there we went to Lady Passion’s coven and got some awesome shots there. The only issue we encountered yesterday was the Pride Festival happening downtown which interfered with our shots. We are going back today to get some quick footage before heading back to Wilmington. It’s been a jam packed weekend but also a very rewarding one. Can’t wait to load it all up into Premiere Pro and start putting this documentary together.
